HEROES DO EXIST: Watch The Video
WHO IS THAT LITTLE GIRL?
This little girl’s name is Genet.
She lives in a rural village called Worja that’s located in the Rift Valley in Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is the poorest nation in Africa, and Worja is one of the poorest villages in Ethiopia and Genet’s family is one of the poorest families in all of Worja. So this little girl might very well be one of the poorest people in the entire world.
Worja’s citizens are entirely dependent on rainfall for their farming. When it rains, they are able to fight the land for enough food to survive. When it doesn’t? Well, then people die.
Children like Genet are most at risk for malnutrition and starvation.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. It doesn’t. And you can help.
THE PROJECT: IRRIGATION WELL

The Plan:
Our most ambitious project. Directly underneath Worja, there is a large aquifer. That aquifer has a water refresh rate that is more than adequate to irrigate the cropland in Worja.
All we need to do is drill a 200-meter well and pump system.
The hydro-geological site survey, the drilling of the well and the irrigation pump will cost roughly $54,000 USD (an incredible bargain). It will provide irrigation for between 150-180 acres of farmland.
This irrigation will remove the dependence on rainfall, allowing the farmers to cultivate multiple crops per year thereby preventing chronic starvation and malnutrition for the entire village.
That’s right - $54,000 USD will mean that no one in Worja will ever have to starve again.
